Author questions
Frequently asked questions
Clear guidance for registered members and guest authors before submission.
What is the difference between Member and Guest Submission?
Member Submission uses the official OJS workflow. Authors create or use an account and can follow the submission through their author dashboard. Guest Submission is a preliminary intake route for authors who do not want to register first; it provides a tracking code and is reviewed by the editorial office.
What files are required?
Submit the complete manuscript as a DOCX file. Authors should also provide the title, abstract, full name, email address, and author information. The Copyright & Declaration form can be uploaded with either route when applicable.
What are the basic publication conditions?
Submissions must be original academic work, relevant to the journal scope, written clearly, and not under consideration by another journal. Authors are responsible for permissions, accurate authorship information, and ethical compliance.
Can guest authors track their submission?
Yes. After a successful guest submission, the system provides a unique tracking code. Keep the code and use it together with the submission email to check the recorded status.
How is a manuscript evaluated?
The editor checks the submission first. Suitable manuscripts are sent to two independent reviewers selected by the editor. The editor considers both reports and makes the final publication decision.
When does Open Horizons publish?
The journal plans two open-access issues each year, in June and December. Submission does not guarantee acceptance or inclusion in a particular issue.
